ASIAN
ART NEWS(HONGKONG) APRIL -2003
Feeling ia an appropriate title for Pantnaik’s
paintings. As he is clearly captivated by male female relationship.
The seductive look on the women’s face is enhanced faster by the
use of dramatic red colour that endows the work with strong stiming
emotions. The texture of the painting adds certaon mystery as well as
visual harmony. As Patnaik explores the human psyche through his adapt
handling of his medium. His brush strokes create a buoyancy that is
both striquingly mature & visually rewarding deceptive simplicity
of his lines adds to the sensuality of the robust figures.
Patnaik handles his couple with sensuality which makes the different
moods & energies of the couple compelling & infectious. Although
there is so much happening in each paintings Patnaik is never diverted
from the central theme of relationship.
